I do not know if this should be posted on an other thread but im posting it here only because I was looking for a solution nearer than PP2000 (in my country) so this is the story ; Two days ago I make the 120km that spread Viña del Mar from Santiago ...

Eventually I got electricity-wise what I had in my old listening room. It turned out that the last straw that I was missing was Lavry ADC that was connected to ground of my remote switcher.

There is nothing that forced me to come with it. I is not that I am frustrated with electricity of obsessed with conservation idea. Furthermore it is not that I drop everything and will do anything with this idea. Still, I think the idea is ver...

I think what they did was to put filters, maybe just a simple capacitor on the AC side to try and reduce the noise that the units inject back into the ac mains. Perhaps they were getting complaints that the units worsened the electricity noise in the...

Well, during the last 2 days with new PP300 I used the Bypass button for perhaps 12 times. The init is sitting under the rock and to engage the Bypass I need not only to bend my fat body into indecent position but to hold myself into that positio...

George, since you have been using the Equi=Tech units for a while now, what do you like about them, and will you compare the sound you get with and without them? Also, what do you not like about electricity with the Equi=Tech units in place, that yo...

The discussion of topology is interesting, but what in fact are we addressing? The factors that have been mentioned are: 1) Sound, which in this case seems to be dependent on "either you get it" - or don't2) Topology, which in my experience has so ma...

'Standard Practice" most certainly depends on what part of "industry" you are looking at. While an automoble assembly line might adopt one set of standards, submarine SONAR or interstellar spectrometry systems, for example, would most certainly use ...
I have used Russian high-gm tubes like 6C45 in amps before, including single-stage designs very much like Romy's single-stage Milq. These have many attractions. However, in my experience it just didn't have the tone. Jim de Kort of ...
biggest problem was the effing electricity?
I was thinking the same. Maybe due to the snowfall? Or the reaction of all the other folks in your neighborhood to the snowfall? Behaviour patterns and power usage are out of...

Andy,
I do not know how aggressive roll-off on obsolete values as I never cared to calibrate my analyzer/microphone above 10K. Well, it was calibrated a few years back but I never trusted to it as I do not see needs for above 20K lineriarity from li...

Well, I believe it!Like I've said more tiimes than anyone wants to hear, the stupid electricity has mimicked every single hi-fi fault I've ever encountered, along with producing a goodly number of its own special effects. It's not that I doubted your ...

Just a lazy-ass type question, really, motivated by nothing more than curiosity.Today, since it's "time to change the V2", and also out of curiosity, I will break in some "vintage" 6C33Cs.To tell the truth, any logistical "issues" with ML2s actually ...

It was an audio eventful year and I have experimented and discovered many fascinating things. Here is a brief summary of the 2007 audio-events and a short look what my audio happening will might take please in 2008.

I remember there was a guy in Chicago (Chig?) who covered Bidat to battery power – I juts do not remember already what was his comments. Chig, if you still around then say Meow.
I personally do not believe in buttery powered DAC like Bidat (IDAT). B...
I'm not sure if yoy are aware of the fact that LED bulds have small but powerfull voltage converters inside operating at 40kHz or so, RF poluting the room and the lines. better avoid than filter.Halogen bulbs (halogen element pack...

Vance, do you mind posting about your bad AC solutions over on the Electricity thread? Not that I'm desparate, or anything...Best regards,Paul SPS: I think the Morray guy uses tinned copper strands. OTOH, who even knows what's in the cheap-...
Does this mean one may one day get free power from the neighbors?
Well, I think it means much more tight dependency from the grid, much more complexity for grid decoupling, not to mention a much higher cancer rate… I wou...

Great electricity today. Full bass is back and everything was incredibly clear for about 2 hours. So, what I get today - in addition to some great music - is that this thing worries less about using feedback to achieve signal "ac...
Still, there is an interesting phenomenon that I never was able to understand. I observe Lamm’s show rooms from I think 1998-1999 to 2006 when I did my last audio show. Surprisingly all Lamm rooms at audio shows sound ...

Clark, the first car I ever owned was a "restored" 1957 Jaguar XK140M roadster, purchased in 1967. It hauled ass... when it was running... and indeed we used to refer to Sir Lucas as "The Lord of Darkness". I can tell you, however, that there was p...

A local audiophile - who works or worked for the Public Electricity Supply System - has optimized his domestic installation by lowering the circuit impedance to insure a high Short Circuit Current. In his words, the Short Circuit Current has a similar...
... you did not make those comments about electricity by listening of that Jeff Buckley, did you?
Yes, of course. Forget your FIMs, MFSLs and ECMs. Jeff Buckley is the only CD that a true audiophile needs. Oh and Pat...

A few days back a guy who began recently to use a power regenerators that eliminates a great deal of compression out of sound was reported that soundstage the he did not like did despair. In this thread I was advocated that “soundstage” as a surrogat...

just keeping it warm probably won't help. It’s also the stabilization of the capacitors and other components. You must keep it on or allow several hours warmup time for best results. If class ab and not class a, will use little electricity....

Methinks the SME 309 headshell may work and if so they appear on the Bay every now and then.Sold one recently that I acquired years ago for near 90 bucks. Did make me wonder how much they were new.Regardsp.s. I guess someone has to pay the electricit...

That thing should have decent imaging, with better spread and depth, etc. Have you messed with anti-skate yet?The MC 3000II takes LOTS of anti-skate, and if I recall the Jubilee took more than some other cartridges I have used.Anyway, it's...
Over time I have observed that, in most cases, one quickly turns the corner from "enough' connector mass to suddenly arrive at "too much" connector mass. I started out with a cable clamp like Jessie shows for my 6 gauge "dedicat...
